Dirty habits

*The pictures posted below may be too graphic for the squeamish. Read to see what it is!

Growing up i never really paid much attention to my bellybutton, but when i did i always knew the inside of it was dirty. I would try to clean it and give up because it was too deep (yes i was chubby/fat). Even in highschool i would have the same problem and i always vowed to myself that i would lose weight and clean my belly button.

Over the past several weeks i started a new workout/diet and started to lose weight and started to notice that it was easier to clean the dirt out of my belly button. I got all around it and when i hit the center i stumbled upon this hard piece of blackness. Since a friend that shall go unnamed has the same thing in their belly button i assumed it part of the umbilical cord and was not meant to come off. After days of thinking it didn't add up, so i just went at it and if it was indeed part of my body and ripping it off would ensue to bleeding then so be it. After some hard work and persistence the "piece" came out! It was a joyous moment where i finally accomplished one of my childhood dreams. A minute later i realized just how disgusting that piece of dirt was. It was an accumulation of dirt from years and years, it wasn't just dirt from around the bellybutton, it was lodged in the center and was stuck where i was even tricked into thinking it was my umbilical cord. These blockades don't just build up overnight, it must have started from...my childhood years. The dirt crept up and built up in my bellybutton and i didn't realize it until i started to shed weight.

This is just like many of our lives (including mine). We have these bad habits that slowly build up and accumulate and become a part of us. It can even trick us into believing that it's meant to be there. These habits are not clean, are not healthy, and if left alone can be fatal to our physical and spiritual health. Not only until we start shedding our improper habits do we realize how "dirty" we really are.

The results

Disgusting, I know.

Road trip!

This road trip has been amazing, it is probably one of the best trips i've had (sorry mom, i still love all the euro trips we took). This blog is mostly written due to the fact that Reuben keeps insisting i write one and insists i take pictures. However, i guess i will just write what comes to mind and see if i feel like posting pictures later.

Our trip started off in Diamond Bar, CA and ended in Durham, NC and drove roughly a little over 2,800 miles which is pretty much literally coast to coast. Starting off you don't know what to expect going into this thing. It could be the biggest bust ever and the biggest waste of 11 days especially due to the fact that Hmlty is in crunch time right now or it could literally be one of the best trips of my life. How often does someone get to say they drove from coast to coast and traveled all throughout the south. At this point i really don't know what to write because there are so many thoughts going on in my head about this trip and i can't even formulate anything where it would do it justice. The biggest things i've learned so far is the fact not to be shy, just go balls out and see where that takes you, it just might end up being one of the best nights of your life. To sum up this trip and as much as i hate this word and hate how people use it, this trip was literally epic.

This post indeed did suck, if i get a chance to map stuff out in my mind ill start over from scratch.

riddle me this

Ok, so this has been on my mind. I don't know if it makes sense at all but feel free to read on and let me know. also if any facts are wrong let me know too. there might be a good amount of tangents in this post

Evolution or the theory of it started becoming popular and widely accepted around 1870, a way for people to have a non religious reason for existence. It was an escape, it created a theory that allowed people to believe that our being on earth is due to billions of years worth of genetic mutation and many many many impossible coincidences and events. Then prayer and religion were removed from public schools around 1960's (1963 i believe). No longer could we pray as a class or read the bible out loud in class if it interrupted school or hindered the rights of other people. btw, look at our society now, with Columbine, the VT shooting among massive cursing and premarital sex. Even if "imposing religion" is wrong at least society was better as a whole back in in the 1900's.

Ok now onto the real reason to the post and once again be warned that this might not make any sense. So as i stated earlier religion was banned if it interfered with school so no longer can the teachers teach on creationism and us being here because of a divine maker because certain groups of people were offended. Now they teach on evolution and us evolving from single celled organisms through billions of years and how we evolved from monkies, fish, birds or what have you. So now my real question comes along. "Why is it ok to teach on evolution but not creationism?" We banned the teaching of creation because some people didn't like it, so why can we not ban evolution if it offends other people? Just because evolution is not considered a religion doesn't mean its not a belief. Why is it that we cannot teach about my beliefs because there is religion tied to it but we can teach about evolution because it is a "neutral" belief.

Big

I think its healthy to blog, it allows creativity to flow and helps keep the mind sharp. With that said i think i should blog more often. So my 3 followers, keep on following!!

I just finished watching "Big" with Tom hanks, i've seen it before but this time its fresh in my mind. I think that we can all relate to Tom Hanks to some degree in the movie. While his transformation from 13-30 is physically impossible the events that he went through seems like it can happen to anyone. A seemingly perfect life, an amazing career, to be loved and to love back, to live in NYC. However, there is always that however; something is missing. In his case it was 17 years of life that was missing but for us its something smaller albeit nonetheless gutwrenching. We (humanity) are constantly plagued with the notion of wanting more. "I have everything, but something is missing" should be THE motto for the human race. Seemingly what we have is not enough and there is always that need. The need is always different from person to person; whether it be religion, adventure, love, money or even just consistancy. But, i believe the ultimate question will always be, will you be satisfied with what you find?

Obama is a NJ

Obama is a NJ (don't ask) and i say that with respect (sort of). So our new president who hails himself as the savior of our economy is too "busy" to attend "The Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball". He pretty much slaps the heroes of our nation in the face because his schedule is too packed. Now you are probably asking, "hey Wilbur when did you get so patriotic?" and the answer is I'm not! It is just ridiculous that Obama would do something like that. I mean sure if he really needed those 5 hours to help boost the economy then ok, thats fine by me. But, lets take a look at what he's NOT too busy for. He goes to bulls/wizards courtside, i mean CMON if you are going to a courtside game why are you going to a WIZARDS GAME?! that just shows you have a bunch of time on your hands to go to a shi**y game like that. Next, he fills out a March Madness bracket and you can tell he spent time on it when he crosses teams out and puts in other teams. Lastly he is is a guest on the Jay Leno show.

Seriously Obama...too busy to honor some heroes of our nation but not to busy for...bulls/wizards...march madness brackets...and Jay Leno. Congrats on setting your priorities.

L-O-V-E

The love of God is an amazing thing. Time and time again we stumble and fall but his grace and mercy is always there for us when we do. Granted, when he picks us up we aren't always in the most pristine condition but we do come out in one piece(hopefully), we do come out stronger(eventually), and most importantly we do come out wiser(most of us). Sure, he has no physical form like our parents but his love for us is just as real. That warmth we get when we worship, pray or even think about him could be nothing other than the reassurance that his love for us is mutual and everlasting.
Too many times people require tangible proof in order to believe in Jesus; looking into the vast universe, studying the amazing mechanics of our body is not enough at times to convince people the wonders of God. If these miracles cannot prove the existence of God then what can? The answer is simple, it is something everyone needs. It is love, the whole-hearted, genuine love; the Christ-like love Jesus bestowed to us upon taking the cross. If we were to truly love the way Jesus loved us, who then would be able to doubt the existence of God?

Am i the only one or is it annoying when you are one of the only cars on surface streets and someone cuts you off by turning into your lane like they are in a hurry only to drive well under the speed limit after turning.
